Existing steel girder bridges on this section were almost 100 years old hence they were replaced by PSC box girders.

New RCC piers were constructed on pile foundation. PSC box girders were cast on casting beds and then side shifted to the main spans on the river bed. Finally, existing steel girders were removed and new PSC girders launched on new pier caps.
